How are these metrics calculated?
- BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate): We use the Mifflin-St Jeor Equation, which is currently widely considered by the dietetic community to be the most accurate predictive equation for calculating calories burned at rest.
- Max Heart Rate: Instead of the outdated '220 minus age' formula, we utilize the Tanaka formula (`208 - 0.7 * age`). Studies have shown this provides a much more accurate ceiling for both men and women across different age groups.
- Macros: The macronutrient split adapts dynamically to your goal. If you select "Build Muscle", protein is heavily prioritized. For "Weight Loss", calories are restricted while ensuring fat minimums are met for hormonal health.
